Bloomsbury’s first birthday

Today my daughter, Sabita, set up this blog for me to celebrate E Bloomsbury’s first birthday and because yesterday my six first novels were re-issued by them. It’s lovely to have books I wrote so long ago back in the world again thanks to Bloomsbury Reader.

Bloomsbury is the first publisher to invite me to design my own covers. What fun! Here is my illustration for the cover of Writing On Skin. He is called The Slug and is a pavement  artist. What do you think?

i like this picture, better than the one for “the tea-planter’s daughter”! i think it is nice that Bloomsbury invited you to do your own designs. I think the author has a better idea as to what they want on their cover to portray the story inside.
